During recovery, while the body heals, the mind wanders.

It slips free of the present, imagining a return to that sport or activity you love.

 

This is the story of my good friend and avid cyclist, Ben Shilletto, who suffered a major knee injury back in May 2024, taking him off the road and the trails for more than a year.

 

At the same time, I was sidelined with a shoulder injury that kept me out of water. During physical therapy, my body was in the room, but my mind was at the beach.

 

We were both reaching to get back.

 

This short explores that mind-body disconnect.
